You hear about collagen from almost every skincare line… but thanks to one fashion brand, you can even find it in in your clothing now!
This luxury technical support company, Buki, has found a way to embed collagen into its fibers. Each piece, which also contains an ultraviolet protection factor, ranges anywhere form $98 for a pillow cover to $178 for a hoodie. But it’s effectiveness is up for debate…
Does collagen in clothing actually help your skin?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body. It’s what gives our skin that youthful firmness, and our joints flexibility. As we age, our collagen levels decrease, resulting in wrinkles, sagging skin, and discomfort in our joints.
Buki doesn’t claim it’s clothing has anti-aging benefits in it or will help with your joints. In fact, they only make one claim about their collagen clothing… that it’s collagen infused fibers will moisturize your skin.
Instead of simply coating the fabric in collagen, the brand used “state-of-the-art” technology to actually embed collagen within the fabric fibers. Buki says the fabric gives ventilation and allows the skin to breathe which leaves the wearer feeling cool and comfortable all day.
It sounds a little too good to be true, doesn’t it?
There has been some debate from doctors and dermatologist on the efficiency of applying collagen topically. The collagen molecule is large and cannot penetrate the skin deeply. Some even say collagen can not be absorbed through the surface at all.
We’re not sure if collagen clothing will become a widely known trend, but we have found the perfect live ingredient collagen drink mix that is clinically proven to increase collagen levels in your skin AND reduce wrinkle volume in just 30 days.
If you love your skincare routine but you’re still seeing unwanted signs of aging, add our Collagen|glo drink mix to your daily routine and take your skin to the next level. Just tear open a drink packet, pour it into 20oz. of water and shake. Each day, you’ll have a clinically proven dose of collagen to actually make a noticeable difference in your skin!
